This is an in-depth teaching about the Hebraic view of Creation that I recently shared at The Covenant Center. Contrary to much of our western, Greek-minded thinking about Genesis, the first book of the bible is a story of how we are to be, not of scientific processes. It is about function, not substance.

I wrote on this topic for my Old Testament survey course at Asbury Theological Seminary, where I am currently working toward a Masters of Divinity degree.

You can download the full paper as a .PDF file which includes all the references. I highly recommend Guardian Angel by Skip Moen and The Lost World of Genesis One by John Walton as excellent resources for further reading.

The audio message is approximately 40 minutes long and I do comment on the paper quite a bit by way of further explanation because it is a somewhat academic read. I also made some presentation slides for the teaching. You might enjoy listening and viewing the slides as I highlight some quotes from the paper that I think are most significant.

I hope you will be encouraged and blessed to learn more about your role in the ongoing process of creation!
