I thought I'd share a little worship excerpt from June 1, 2014 at The Covenant Center. Generally, our music is spontaneous and we try to enjoy that and be sensitive to what God may be saying to each of us and the community in the moment. Then, we do our best to express that through sound: music and words.
On this day, I just felt an invitation from the Father that He desires to hear our petitions and requests, as any good parent does. This is not always my first inclination toward God, but I have been more aware of wanting it to be since singing this that day. It has been in my mind and a part of my prayer life ever since, really.
So, today, I encourage you to share your heart with our Father.
Ask, seek, and knock.
Matthew 7:7-12 (ASV)
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9 Or what man is there of you, who, if his son shall ask him for a loaf, will give him a stone;
10 or if he shall ask for a fish, will give him a serpent?
11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
12 All things therefore whatsoever ye would that men should do unto you, even so do ye also unto them: for this is the law and the prophets.
